Jo Thorne is a multi-disciplinary fine artist whose practice investigates the liminal spaces where material ritual, myth, and human transformation intersect. Working between deeply textured semi-abstract oils and ambitious, hybrid three-dimensional installations, her work explores themes of reclamation, autonomy, and the visceral alchemy of the in-between.

Having established a robust professional background in contemporary expressionist oil painting, her work has naturally expanded into spatial installation and conceptual sculpture. Through the symbolic hand-formulation of raw pigments, wax, and architectural or textile structures, Thorne coaxes complex emotional landscapes into physical space.

She lives and works in Somerset, UK, and her paintings are held in private collections across the UK and internationally. She is currently represented by prominent Southwest institutions, including The Brownston Gallery and A2 Gallery.
